Fund for the Indigent Elderly

The Fund for Indigent Elderly supplements available Emergency Services funding to assist vulnerable senior citizens living on low fixed incomes. Assistance is available for prescription medication, rent payments and utility bills.

Almost thirty percent of people seeking financial assistance and food from the Presbyterian Community Center Emergency Services Program are senior citizens. They live on very low fixed-incomes and struggle to pay basic living expenses. Unexpected emergencies or health issues can be catastrophic, quickly wiping out lifetime savings and threatening the ability to remain in their home.

Each year, the PCC sets aside a special fund specifically to assist elderly clients with living expenses and prescription medication. All contributions to this fund are received from private foundations and individuals and are used only to assist needy senior clients.
