PCC community partner REACH provides service opportunities in Southeast Roanoke. Two years ago, REACH began to rehab a house donated by a PCC supporter. The goal of our partnership was to identify a Pathways for Youth family that might qualify to purchase the house from REACH. Pathways staff found one mom very interested and willing to do the work necessary to acquire a home.Nicole Jennings, Director of Family Programs, helped her to manage all the details. In February, she became a proud first-time homeowner! Here is an excerpt from a note she sent to PCC shortly after moving in: “I would like to thank God for blessing both the Presbyterian Community Center and REACH with all the resources for making it possible for me as a single mother to become a homeowner. It’s totally different having your own space and privacy, especially after living with friends and family. We have learned to love the smallest of things living on our own. Thank you for making our dream come true.”
