An elderly gentleman recently asked the PCC for food. He lives on a meager Social Security check and monthly pension of $128. He cannot read or write. He is dealing with cancer and asked for only one bag of food because he had to carry it on the bus. A PCC volunteer on duty that day was quite taken with the genteel manners of this man and gave him a ride home, allowing us to provide him with several bags of groceries for which he was most grateful.
