The number of hungry people throughout the United States and right here in Roanoke continues to increase as the economy remains weak, gas prices continue to rise and food prices skyrocket. These conditions result in empty shelves at area food pantries as more and more families look for assistance.Weekly, the Presbyterian Community Center hears about heart-wrenching situations from current clients and a steady stream of new clients who share their stories of hardship. Whether it is assistance with food, utilities, rent or prescriptions, the Center does its best to offer a helping hand and compassionate ear to those in need. The PCC appreciates your assistance with keeping our pantry shelves stocked for our needy neighbors. We rely on HUNGER BUSTER food collections by churches, community groups, businesses and individuals to meet the need we encounter daily. Please consider organizing a HUNGER BUSTER to help the PCC pantry. For more information, click on the link below or contact Cheryl Poe, PCC Director of Volunteers at 540-982-2911 or by email.
